About Julia
Hi there, my name is Julia Fehr and I am a 3rd year standing Interior Design student at Vancouver Island University. I grew up in Kelowna BC where my family, friends and I spent a lot of time in nature; which is one of my favourite things to do. I fell in love with Vancouver Island for the natural landscapes, and I consider myself lucky to be able to explore my passion in such a beautiful place.
Ever since I was a child I was artistic. You could always find me drawing, including on the walls of my childhood home. I became more serious about my art in High School where I worked on the yearbook, tried my luck in woodshop, and created sculptures and paintings. Hobbies I enjoy outside of my art include reading; travelling; hiking; and most importantly, spending time with my friends and family.
My personal design style can be described as modern eclectic. I love to use a neutral palette with pops of colour and patterns to add further interest and individuality. I take a lot of inspiration from nature when designing and am consistently trying to find ways to create spaces which are more environmentally friendly. Although this is the design style I feel most inspired by, I love to be pushed out of my comfort zone.
