Gather Boutique Hotel
Gather is an entertainment focused boutique hotel located in Edmonton Alberta in its downtown core. The space is meant to connect the user with the local talent through the inclusion of a stage for live music. It takes subtle inspiration from the art deco design style and includes monochromatic rooms/suites for an individualized and youthful experience.
VIU Cafeteria
The VIU Cafeteria is located in Nanaimo BC on the Vancouver Island University Campus. My program was reached out to by the University in order to create a proposal for the renovation of this important, yet outdated, building on campus. The client expressed that they wanted the space to reflect the universities morals as well as take inspiration from the west coast landscapes surrounding it.
Urban Seed Library and Community Gardens
Urban Seed Library and Community Gardens aims to provide its community with the resources and knowledge to obtain food security by providing immediate hunger relief as well as education and resources for agriculture. This center is changing the way a person looks at libraries and the design displays a neutral colour scheme which takes inspiration from nature.
Holocene Boutique and Offices
Holocene boutique and offices is a 3 story building which includes a boutique on the first floor, its corresponding office space on the second floor and a residential unit on the third floor. This space allows for the owner of Holocene boutique to work, relax and live all within one building. The design is neutral and convenient.
The Hub Vocational Facility
The purpose of the Hub Vocational Facility is to provide those affected by an autism spectrum disorder the support that they need to thrive within everyday scenarios. This was done through the use of certain design principles such as texture, line and light. Sensory elements are stimulating and challenging while the colour palette is comforting in order to encourage the connection between the user and the built environment.
Hive Media Offices
Hive Medias Calgary offices aims to create an environment which nourishes its employees and allows them to thrive. The design reflects the morals of the company by including biophilic design elements. Design principles such as texture and line can be seen on the ceiling while a dynamic use of light enhances this modern day office.
